First introduced as Fragments of Ragada at Kappatos Rooms in Athens (February 2022), and later presented at Theatro Sti Sala (May 2022), the work reaches its full development with its premiere at the Venice Biennale in June 2026. Conceived as both culmination and origin, and moving between the domestic and the surreal, Ragada marks the closing gesture of Banushi’s trilogy on loss and rebirth “Romance Familiare”.
Rooted in Balkan polyphonic vocal traditions, Emmanouel Rovithis applies his Embodied Sound Dramaturgy by weaving heavily processed recordings of the performers’ voices and bodily sounds with industrial textures and fragmented song material, shaping a sonic landscape of memory, loss, and hope.
