During a weekend of open studios in Athens dedicated to promoting Greek design, art, and architecture, this audio installation accompanied the exhibition of the “I Am design, etc.” team.

Words covered the walls of the space, connected by threads, while the audio, accessible through hanging headphones, explored the paradox of human identity: that each person is original and unique, yet at the same time deeply similar to others. Distinct individual traits coexist with the shared social rules and structures that shape contemporary life.

Working exclusively with the sonic processing of recorded interviews addressing themes such as family, state, gender, identity, and religion, Emmanouel Rovithis advances his Embodied Sound Dramaturgy from a collage technique of fragments into a coherent and fully articulated methodological approach.

Naftemporiki
The most famous independent film Greek cinema has ever produced. An authentic cult masterpiece that defined the 2000s and an entire generation, with lines still quoted to this day. Through unapologetic humour and cinematic simplicity, it offers an unprecedented anatomy of life on the margins

The film’s music taps into the pulse of the city—an energetic, beat-driven electronic soundtrack."

The intense musicality also contributes to this harmonious mix (excellent musical composition and sound design by Emmanouel Rovithis) which "binds" with Aris Biniaris' directorial perspective and subsequently imbues the acting of his actors with rhythm in speech, breaths and their body."
Efsyn
"The intense music of Emmanouel Rovithis and the choreography of Evi Oikonomou move the stage in the steps of a Kafkaesque nightmare."
